Grateful Dead Meet-Up at the Movies returns this summer with screenings of the complete June 17, 1991 Giants Stadium concert, celebrated as one of the band's finest performances of its final decade. The program features the classic Garcia–Weir–Lesh–Kreutzmann–Hart lineup, with Bruce Hornsby and Vince Welnick on keyboards, and includes a cinema-exclusive preview of Shakedown Street from the upcoming Merriweather release. Described by Dead archivist David Lemieux as one of the tour’s standout shows and one captured on 48-track analog tape, the event aims to deliver transportive audio-visual quality to theater audiences. Screenings will take place August 8 and August 10 as part of The Days Between, the tribute period to Jerry Garcia, with a special introduction and surround-sound presentation. In addition to the Giants Stadium performance, the event features the Shakedown Street preview and reinforces the Dead’s ongoing global cinema tradition with Trafalgar Releasing and Rhino Entertainment coordinating the rollout.
