Kraft Heinz Sells Coffee Unit for $650 Million but Keeps Stake

Kraft Heinz set an enterprise value of $650 million on its North American coffee business in a November 4, 2026 deal with an affiliate of One Rock Capital Partners, retaining a 30% non-controlling stake. Brands in the sale include Maxwell House, Gevalia, Nabob, Yuban, Tassimo, Ethical Bean and Sanka. Three manufacturing facilities in Jacksonville, Florida and Vancouver, British Columbia, and about 250 full-time employees, are expected to transfer. Closing is expected in mid-2027. The company projects after-tax net cash proceeds of about $500 million to pay down debt. Steve Cahillane said: "This transaction is a meaningful step in unlocking value from our portfolio and will further accelerate the momentum behind our transformation." He added that relative to last year, market share, sales and volume trends are improving in every region. Tony Lee of One Rock said the firm has long admired the brands and intends to accelerate investment across the portfolio. Accompanying Q3 figures showed adjusted EPS of 53 cents, above estimates, net sales of $6.12 billion down nearly 2%, and adjusted operating income down 15.2%. Cahillane had halted a planned split after becoming CEO in January. No contested claims found in the record.
