Lattice Launches Mach-N2 FPGAs With Post-Quantum Security
Lattice Semiconductor introduced its Mach-N2 family of small FPGAs for secure system control in compute, communications and industrial infrastructure. Built on the company’s Nexus 2 platform, the devices offer up to twice the logic density of earlier generations, integrated flash, a hardware Root of Trust, post-quantum cryptography aligned with CNSA 2.0, PCIe 4.0, 10G Ethernet and SERDES speeds of up to 16 Gbps. Security features include crypto agility, anti-tamper monitoring, attestation support and multiple configuration images for recovery, while Lattice says a 220,000-logic-cell device can configure in under 30 milliseconds. The company also launched Lattice Prompt, a free AI-assisted FPGA development tool that lets engineers use plain-language requests and integrates with Lattice Radiant, Claude Code, Cursor and Visual Studio Code through the Model Context Protocol. The launches strengthen Lattice’s secure-control and software-driven design strategy, but the company remains exposed to semiconductor cycles, industrial and automotive inventory levels, competition from custom silicon, pricing pressure and China-related demand risks.
