Dolly Parton’s Cup of Ambition Coffee Launches After 40-Year Effort

Dolly Parton's Cup of Ambition coffee line launched nationwide on Sept. 29, 2026, National Coffee Day, after she said she had pursued the idea for more than 40 years. Family-owned Community Coffee of Baton Rouge, Louisiana, partnered on light, medium and dark roasts in ground and pod formats, named from a lyric in her 1980 hit "9 to 5." In June at Dolly's Tennessean Travel Stop she said: "I thought the Cup of Ambition would be a fantastic name for a coffee brand, and I've been working towards this for over 40 years. This is just one of those dreams that's taken a little longer than I thought it might, but we've got it and it's working." She said she couldn't be happier and called Community Coffee a fantastic partner. Parton died Aug. 25, 2026, at age 80 in Nashville. Her reps described a brief battle with cancer, according to Whiskey Riff. The launch commercial, filmed in July 2026 about a month before her death along with two others, shows her getting ready, writing a song, putting on lip gloss and pouring coffee. Sales support her Imagination Library Foundation; Community Coffee is the anchor funding partner for its return in Lafayette Parish. Donna Saurage of Community Coffee said Parton had a warmth that made you feel you'd known her forever and it was a true joy to help make the dream a reality. No material factual disputes appear among the rated outlets. Promotional tastings and a coffee trolley marked the rollout in Nashville and other Tennessee locations.
