London man fined £400 for 14-year-old assault
Abdul Barkeeh Salihi, a 24-year-old Afghan national, groped a 14-year-old girl during a Harry Potter–themed visit to Leadenhall Market in London, near the Diagon Alley filming location. Earlier the same day, he also slapped a 42-year-old woman on Lombard Street, and later in Rocca restaurant he confronted the victims and threw a chair through a window. Salihi admitted two counts of sexual assault and criminal damage and was fined £400 with a £160 victim surcharge, with a five-year inclusion on the sex offenders register. Police characterized the assaults as deeply distressing acts in broad daylight against two females, praising the victims for coming forward and supporting the investigation. The Leadenhall Market incident is tied to the popular Harry Potter location, underscoring concerns about public safety in tourist sites and the importance of reporting sexual offences.
