Oklahoma linebacker Kip Lewis suffered an apparent right-knee injury during the first quarter against Michigan on Saturday, briefly leaving the field while unable to put weight on the leg. Junior linebacker James Nesta replaced him, but Lewis later returned to the game with about four minutes remaining in the quarter and was seen running on the sideline wearing a knee brace. Lewis, a fifth-year senior and defensive leader, recorded 76 tackles last season and is considered one of the Sooners’ top players. His final status was not immediately clear, though early reports described the injury as a significant concern.
