Ramayana to Be Released in Two Parts; SDCC Updates
At San Diego Comic-Con 2026, the Ramayana team including Yash, Ranbir Kapoor, director Nitesh Tiwari and producer Namit Malhotra teased the epic, and the trailer was postponed after Sony Pictures was locked in as global distributor. Yash praised Ranbir Kapoor as a fabulous actor, stressing that playing Lord Rama is not easy and commending his dedication and sacrifice. He also discussed his own Ravana portrayal, aiming to humanize the demon and present a more complex, intelligent antagonist. The project is planned as a two-part release, with Part 1 around Diwali 2026 and Part 2 in 2027. Throughout SDCC and related interviews, Yash urged audiences to judge Ranbir’s casting after watching the film, calling Ramayana India’s dream project and praising the director’s vision. The ensemble highlighted Sai Pallavi and emphasized authenticity and intent in bringing the mythic story to life.
