Ethio Telecom posts 92.9B EBIT, 215.8B revenue; plans privatization

Ethio Telecom posted a 33% revenue gain to about 215.8 billion birr for 2025/26 with EBIT of 92.9 billion birr as it accelerates its digital-services push under the Next Horizon plan, including expanding network infrastructure and digital platforms. The carrier now serves about 90.1 million subscribers, has expanded 4G to 1,200 cities and 5G to 33 towns, and Telebirr has processed over 9.13 trillion birr in cumulative transactions, underscoring its central role in Ethiopia’s digital economy.
