Brampton Woman Charged in $60K Rental Fraud

A 27-year-old Brampton woman, Savreet Kaur, has been charged with 38 counts of fraud over $5,000 and one count of obstructing police for a rental-scam scheme that identified 17 victims and defrauded them of more than $60,000 between May 2025 and February 2026; victims paid deposits for first and last month’s rent but the advertised rentals were unavailable when they arrived. Police say the investigation is ongoing, with a bail hearing held, and they caution the public to be wary of rental ads on social media.

Sunrise Expansion Construction Begins, Boosts BC LNG
