Pelican Rapids Man Pleads Guilty in Fraud Scheme

Abdirashid Bixi Dool, a 36-year-old Pelican Rapids man, pleaded guilty to one count of wire fraud in the Feeding Our Future scheme, becoming the 68th defendant convicted; prosecutors say the nonprofits claimed to serve hundreds of thousands of meals to children while actual counts were far lower, with nearly $1.1 million in federal funds paid out. He faces up to 20 years in prison, and sentencing has not yet been scheduled.
