Indiana HJT Solar Plant Opens; 1,200 Jobs

CS PowerTech Inc., a subsidiary of Canadian Solar, opened Phase I of its River Ridge Commerce Center solar cell facility in Jeffersonville, Indiana, to produce heterojunction bifacial N-type solar cells and strengthen the U.S. domestic solar supply chain. The plant targets over 6 GWp annual capacity at full operation, with about 1,200 jobs and nearly $1 billion in local investment, starting with trial production in 2026 and a second expansion planned by year’s end.
