Meta Horizon+ Adds Xbox Game Pass Starter

Meta is adding an Xbox Game Pass starter edition to its Horizon+ subscription, giving Quest users access to 50+ Game Pass titles and 10 hours of cloud gaming per month, with downloads to PC or Xbox and Rewards for playing. In the coming weeks, Quest Touch controllers will be able to emulate an Xbox controller, enabling play without an official gamepad.

Samsung Galaxy Card debuts in US

Samsung, in partnership with Barclays and Visa, is launching the Samsung Galaxy Card as its first US credit card integrated into Samsung Wallet to streamline payments and financing for Samsung devices, with no annual fee and tiered cash back including 5% on Samsung purchases plus bonuses for using Samsung Wallet and streaming services. The rollout, timed around Samsung’s Unpacked event and set to begin July 22, expands digital-wallet native cards in the US and marks Barclays’ continued foray into such partnerships.

Anthropic $1.5 Billion Copyright Settlement Approved

A San Francisco federal judge approved a $1.5 billion settlement with authors over Anthropic's use of pirated books to train Claude, marking the largest U.S. copyright settlement and covering roughly 480,000 works at about $3,000 per title. The deal ends the case but leaves questions about outputs, requires destruction of pirated files, and drew objections from some authors who say it may not fully compensate or preclude further claims.
