Jacobs Cleared to Return as NFL Investigation Continues
The NFL will remove Green Bay Packers running back Josh Jacobs from the commissioner’s exempt list on Oct. 19, making him eligible to return for the Oct. 25 game against Detroit after missing the team’s first six games. His eligibility does not end the league’s personal-conduct investigation, and he could still be disciplined; the games he has missed may count toward a suspension. Jacobs pleaded no contest to misdemeanor battery and criminal-damage charges stemming from a May incident and was fined for the battery offense. The NFL is seeking surveillance footage related to the incident, while Jacobs and the woman involved have filed lawsuits seeking to keep evidence sealed.
