KAIST, Nvidia plan $300 million AI research institute

KAIST and Nvidia announced a joint AI research initiative, establishing the Nvidia-KAIST AI Joint Research Center/institute to develop agentic AI and language- and industry-specific models for Korea, backed by about $300 million over five years and $50 million in yearly computing resources. The collaboration will recruit and train Korean AI researchers, offer internships and permanent roles at Nvidia, and aim to secure foundational AI technologies and boost Korea’s industrial competitiveness.
