Carl Gustaf Ekman was a Swedish liberal politician and statesman who served twice as Prime Minister of Sweden from 1926 to 1928 and from 1930 to 1932. He was also leader of the Free-Minded National Association from 1923 to 1934. He represented several constituencies as a member of the riksdag (MP) from 1911 to 1932, first of the upper house from 1911 to 1928, and then of the lower house from 1929 to 1932. Ekman’s ability to influence the balance of power between Sweden’s major political blocs during the 1920s and 1930s resulted in him being nicknamed the "Arbiter of the realm" (Riksvågsmästaren).
