Cleveland Winslow was a United States Army officer who served with the 5th New York Volunteer Infantry, otherwise known as the famed Duryee's Zouaves, during the American Civil War. He was also a participant in the New York draft riots in 1863. Although a charismatic and courageous battlefield commander, he was reputed to be a strict disciplinarian, generally considered unpopular with lower-ranking soldiers.
