Friedrich Merz was a German chemist, pharmacist, and entrepreneur. He is best known as the founder of Merz Pharma, a family-owned pharmaceutical and healthcare company in Frankfurt am Main. His grandson, Jochen Hückmann, served as CEO of Merz from 1981 to 2006.
