The Red Sox exercised their $8.25 million option on reliever Garrett Whitlock for 2027, retaining a key late-inning arm after he posted a career-best 1.72 ERA in 2026. Whitlock is recovering from a fractured tibia he pitched through late in the season and is expected to be ready for spring training.
