Hassan or Hāsana is a city, taluk and the district headquarter of Hassan district in the Karnataka state of India. It is a prominent city, located in the South-Western region of Karnataka and serves as a centre for agriculture, Heritage tourism and trade. It is known as the gateway to the important temple sites of Hoysala architecture.
