Texas A&M coach Mike Elko says he keeps his players driven by showing them an empty trophy case, insisting that last year’s 11-2 CFP appearance hasn’t satisfied the program and that the goal is growth and real hardware heading into 2026. The blunt trophy-case approach dominates SEC Media Days coverage, reflecting a rapid rise under Elko and a push to finally win championships rather than settle for past success.
