My Memories of Mexico (Spanish: México de mis recuerdos) is a 1944 Mexican historical musical film directed as well as written by Juan Bustillo Oro and starring Fernando Soler, Sofía Álvarez, Joaquín Pardavé, Dolores Camarillo and Salvador Quiroz. The film nostalgically recreates the years of the Porfirio Díaz dictatorship in Mexico. It was shot at the Azteca Studios in Mexico City. The film's sets were designed by the art director Luis Moya.

Plot
Set in Mexico City during the final years of the Porfiriato era, the narrative follows Don Susanito Peñafiel y Somellera, an eccentric, highly conservative, and overly bureaucratic public official who fiercely supports the regime of President Porfirio Díaz. Susanito’s orderly life is entirely upended when he crosses paths with Jesús Flores, a brilliant but deeply bohemian musician and composer whose free-spirited lifestyle completely clashes with Susanito's rigid ideas of morality and etiquette.
Despite their massive cultural differences, an unexpected and deep friendship develops between the bureaucrat and the musician. Through Jesús, Susanito is introduced to the vibrant world of the capital's artistic nightlife, salons, and musical theater, which challenges his stiff preconceptions and leads to a series of comedic, high-society misunderstandings. The dynamic complicates as local romances blossom among the younger generation, forcing Susanito to repeatedly intervene to protect his family's strict social standing while covertly indulging in the bohemian scene.
The narrative shifts dramatically when the rumblings of political unrest and the impending outbreak of the Mexican Revolution begin to fracture the comfortable high-society world they inhabit. Through a wave of nostalgia, personal losses, and inevitable societal changes, the film chronicles the definitive collapse of their era. Ultimately, the characters are forced to reconcile their rigid past values with a rapidly transforming country, leaving Susanito and Jesús to look back on their shared musical experiences as a bittersweet monument to a bygone Mexico.
