The North Carolina Railroad is a 317-mile (510 km) state-owned rail corridor extending from Morehead City, North Carolina, to Charlotte. The railroad carries over 70 freight trains and ten passenger trains daily. The railroad works with the North Carolina Department of Commerce and the North Carolina Department of Transportation on capital-improvement projects.
