The area of the district is 1,886 square kilometers (728 sq mi). Its administrative center is the town of Pavlovsk. Population: 51,144 (2021 census); 57,081 (2010 census); 59,355 (2002 census); 58,526 (1989 Soviet census). The population of Pavlovsk accounts for 43.8% of the district's total population.
