Samuel Lane (1780–1859) was a deaf English portrait-painter, who trained under Joseph Farington and Thomas Lawrence, where he learned to paint in the style of Joshua Reynolds in a career that lasted through the golden age of British painting. Lane lived and worked out of Greek Street in London for most of his professional life, exhibiting at the Royal Academy of Arts (RA) every year for fifty years of his professional life (1804-1857).
