Regensburg Bank Hostage Situation Ongoing, Multiple People Inside

A knife-wielding suspect escalated a bank robbery in Regensburg into a hostage-taking at the HypoVereinsbank branch, with at least one person killed and others in critical condition as police and special forces, including a helicopter, closed in on the building; the motive remains unclear and no demands have been reported. Authorities continue a large-scale operation with officers and emergency services securing the area, while multiple reports confirm ongoing uncertainty about whether additional hostages remain inside the bank.
