The Special Broadcasting Service (SBS) is Australia's multicultural and multilingual public broadcaster. It was founded in 1975 to provide radio and television programming in foreign languages for post-war migrants to Australia. Alongside the ABC, it is Australia's second public broadcaster, receiving about 70 per cent of its funding from tax revenue, and the remainder from commercials.
