University College, popularly referred to as UC, is a constituent college of the University of Toronto, located on its St. George campus in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. It was created in 1853 as the nondenominational teaching arm of the University of Toronto and the provincial college of Canada West. UC was the founding member of the university's federation and its non-denominationalism contrasted with contemporary institutions at the time, such as Trinity College and St. Michael's College, both of which later became part of the University of Toronto. It is one of the seven undergraduate colleges in the university's Faculty of Arts and Science.
