William Beck was a German-born American politician and police officer who served as a Democratic member of the Wisconsin State Assembly during the 1852 session. He was also the first chief of the Milwaukee Police Department from 1855 to 1861, and served two further times from 1863 to 1878, and 1880 to 1882.
