About Xinjiang Province

Xinjiang Province was a province of the People's Republic of China (PRC) from 1949 to 1955. It was founded in 1949 after the incorporation of Xinjiang into the People's Republic of China. In 1955, it was replaced by the Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region.
