Reports: Incendiary Device Thrown at Atlanta ICE Office

An unidentified male threw an incendiary or Molotov cocktail-style device at the federal building at 180 Ted Turner Drive in downtown Atlanta on Tuesday, Oct. 20, 2026. That building houses ICE headquarters and an immigration court. The suspect fled southbound on Ted Turner Drive. No injuries were reported and no fire broke out. No one has been arrested, no suspect has been identified, and no claim of responsibility has been reported. WSB-TV reporters spotted a plastic lighter and shopping bags with what appeared to be lighter fluid on the sidewalk near the building. In a statement, the FBI said personnel and evidence response technicians are on site collecting evidence, there is no known threat to public safety at this time, the investigation is ongoing, and no further details are currently available. Outlets differ on the time of the incident and on whether the building sustained minor damage. Agents are reviewing evidence and following leads.
