Centrica Reports 2026 H1 Profit, Raises Dividend

Centrica posted a first-half 2026 pre-tax profit of £672 million, helped by £213 million of exceptional gains, and raised its interim dividend to 2.0p per share, even as underlying earnings faced headwinds from lower nuclear realisations, outages, and asset disposals. The group maintained guidance with a mixed picture across segments, noting continued investment and portfolio simplification as it seeks more stable, long-term earnings and a lower net cash position.
