Election Guides Detail Local Races and Voter Preparations in Three States

Election coverage across California, New York and New Jersey highlights local races, ballot measures and efforts to prepare and engage voters. In San Francisco, the November 2024 campaign drew unusually little grassroots activity despite record spending on charter amendments, while activists organized around several propositions. California’s election coverage also focused on a federal lawsuit over voter rolls and allegations involving possible noncitizen registrations, as well as rising political texts and mailers. New York officials and civic leaders discussed election preparations, voter engagement and the issues motivating voters. In Point Pleasant and Palo Alto, guides detailed local contests and ballot questions, including school board races, taxes, transit funding and school district finances.
