Ten days before Election Day, Sen. Bernie Sanders rallied in Duluth with Minnesota Democratic Senate candidate Peggy Flanagan and Attorney General Keith Ellison. They urged voters to support them and help Democrats regain control of Congress. Polling showed Flanagan narrowly ahead of Republican opponent Michele Tafoya. Flanagan emphasized the cost of health care, gas and groceries, promised to defend benefits such as SNAP, and criticized Tafoya for ties to President Donald Trump. She also called for an immigration system that protects border security while treating people with dignity. Sanders and the candidates blamed the Trump administration and congressional Republicans for policies they said favor the wealthy and burden working people; Ellison and Flanagan highlighted economic concerns. Candidates pressed supporters to mobilize and vote before Election Day.

“Fox Business”Ten days out means every event like this one matters for getting people to the polls in northern Minnesota.
Ellison has a solid record and pairing him with Flanagan on the ballot makes sense this close to the election.
Sanders coming to Duluth should help Flanagan hold her narrow lead with voters who want change.
