The Seattle Seahawks opened the 2026 season with a 13-10 comeback victory over the New England Patriots, but starting quarterback Sam Darnold left after being sacked on Seattle’s opening drive. Darnold limped to the sideline, was evaluated in the medical tent and locker room, and completed 1 of 2 passes for 13 yards before being ruled out and taken to Harborview Medical Center. An initial CT scan ruled out a hip fracture but did not provide a complete diagnosis; an MRI is scheduled to assess possible soft-tissue damage and determine whether he can play against Arizona on Sept. 20.
