Minnesota Sets Record for Early Voting in Non-Presidential Election
Minnesota accepted 886,427 absentee and mail ballots by Monday morning. That total set a record for early voting in a non-presidential general election. Nearly 620,000 of the ballots were cast in person and about 267,000 were returned by mail. Officials urged voters with outstanding ballots to meet delivery deadlines or vote at their polling place on Election Day. As the early totals came in, candidates made final appeals. Republican Senate candidate Michele Tafoya criticized Democratic Lt. Gov. Peggy Flanagan's record. Flanagan highlighted Tafoya's endorsement from President Donald Trump.
