Doncic banks half-court buzzer-beater in Lakers rout of Warriors
The Lakers opened the season with a 127-105 win over the Warriors on October 21, 2026, at Crypto.com Arena. Luka Doncic finished with 28 points, eight rebounds, seven assists and three steals and banked a half-court buzzer-beater that made the halftime score 66-52. Yaxel Lendeborg, Golden State's No. 11 pick out of Michigan, scored 12 points in his NBA debut and was assessed a technical foul with 22 seconds left in the first half after exchanging words with Doncic. The talk started when Doncic drew a shooting foul on Lendeborg late in the second quarter and laughed as Lendeborg reacted. Doncic kept chirping while Lendeborg was on the bench and pointed and talked at him after the half-court shot. Doncic said Lendeborg "was talking crazy" and that he was trying not to get technicals this season after 16 last year; he received none. Lendeborg told reporters he had respected Doncic from highlights but "lost all respect" after seeing "a lot of flopping, a lot of foul baiting, a lot of crying to the refs," saying the foul calls were not the issue so much as Doncic complaining all game then talking afterward. Austin Reaves said nobody understands what Doncic says and that he would pay people to talk to him to get him into another gear.
