Tatum and Brown Trade Public Remarks Amid Speculation
Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown exchanged public remarks after Brown was traded from Boston to Philadelphia in a deal that sent Paul George and draft picks to the Celtics. Tatum said he was caught off guard by the trade, learned of it from ESPN’s Shams Charania in Las Vegas, and called and texted Brown that day; Brown questioned Tatum’s account with a “cap” emoji. Tatum denied animosity and said he wanted their nine-year partnership, two NBA Finals appearances and 2024 championship to define their relationship, while Brown said there was “no beef,” joked about “lamb chops and gravy” and told Tatum to stay ready. Tatum made his comments after scoring 36 points in Boston’s 107-103 win over the Knicks. The Sixers are scheduled to host the Celtics on November 10, when the former teammates are set to face each other.
