Rams Rule Garrett Out Against Chargers

Rams coach Sean McVay said the team will not open Myles Garrett’s 21-day practice window this week, ruling him out of Sunday’s game against the Chargers and extending his absence to seven straight games. Acquired from Cleveland in a major trade, Garrett has been on injured reserve since undergoing left knee surgery after appearing in the season opener; McVay said his recovery is progressing without a setback, but he remains week to week with no return date set. The Rams have managed only 10 sacks this season, and Garrett’s absence is a significant blow to the pass rush alongside traded edge rusher Jared Verse. Tight end Terrance Ferguson will also remain on injured reserve, while receiver Davante Adams has undergone hamstring surgery and is expected to miss at least six weeks. Cornerback Trent McDuffie returned to limited practice.
