Romeo Doubs left the New England Patriots' Week 6 game against the New York Jets after diving to catch a 42-yard touchdown pass from Drake Maye with 4:10 remaining in the first quarter. He landed hard on his shoulder, was evaluated in the blue medical tent, and went to the locker room. The Patriots led 7-3 at the time. On the play Doubs reached 21.44 mph, his fastest as a ballcarrier in five seasons. He entered the week with 13 receptions for 219 yards and two touchdowns after a four-year, $68 million signing in March. ESPN reported the team ruled him out early in the third quarter after an initial questionable listing; Athlon Sports and Independent Journal Review still described him as questionable to return. Jesse Morse, M.D., said Doubs likely suffered a left AC sprain diving for the catch and would get X-rays; if negative for a clavicle fracture, Morse said he could get a numbing or cortisone shot and return. A.J. Brown returned the same day from injured reserve after a Week 1 ankle injury and a June trade to New England. X-ray results and any further missed time were not yet confirmed.

“Patriots' Doubs Exits After Touchdown With Shoulder Injury”Shoulder injuries like that often keep players out longer than expected. Hope the team doesn't rush him back too soon.
Doubs makes that big touchdown catch and then has to leave with a shoulder issue. The Patriots really needed him to stay healthy down the stretch.
