Missouri has re-signed quarterback Austin Simmons for the 2027 season, giving the Tigers continuity at the position as they prepare for the offseason and build around a team in the College Football Playoff race. Simmons has led Missouri to a 6-2 record, completing 63.3% of his passes for 1,952 yards, 16 touchdowns and two interceptions. His reported contract still allows him to enter the 2027 NFL Draft, so his return is not certain. Several of Missouri’s key skill-position players are also eligible to return, potentially helping the team retain much of its offensive production.

No right coverage yet — a bubble gap.
The draft option makes sense for Simmons but I wish the deal locked him in fully for team continuity.
Keeping Simmons gives Missouri the best chance to build on their 6-2 record and reach the playoffs next year.
