Nebraska Fires Offensive Coordinator Holgorsen After Four Losses

Nebraska fired offensive coordinator Dana Holgorsen on Saturday, a day after a 24-13 loss to Illinois extended the Cornhuskers’ losing streak to four games. Nebraska opened the season 5-0 but has fallen to 5-4 overall and 2-4 in the Big Ten, averaging about 13.5 points during the skid. Coach Matt Rhule said the offense’s plan and execution were not working. Co-offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Glenn Thomas will handle play-calling for the rest of the season as Nebraska tries to regroup.
