Fraud scandal shapes Minnesota governor race as three states vote
Voters in California, Wisconsin and Minnesota are choosing governors, alongside other contests and ballot measures in California and constitutional amendments in Wisconsin. California Democrat Xavier Becerra leads Republican Steve Hilton in polling, while voters are also deciding who will succeed Nancy Pelosi and fill Eric Swalwell’s former House seat, and whether to approve a proposed billionaire tax. Wisconsin voters are choosing between Democrat David Crowley and Republican Tom Tiffany. Minnesota’s Amy Klobuchar and Lisa Demuth are competing to become the state’s first woman governor in a race shaped by a major fraud scandal; Klobuchar entered as the polling and fundraising front-runner, while Republicans argued that anger over the scandal could help Demuth.
