Russian drone strikes SBU headquarters in Kyiv, Zelenskyy vows response

A Russian drone struck the headquarters of Ukraine’s Security Service (SBU) in central Kyiv near St. Sophia Cathedral, damaging the building and a nearby business and causing a fire and heavy smoke. Ukrainian officials said the attack appeared to target the office of acting SBU chief Oleksandr Poklad. At least five people were reported injured. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy ordered the SBU to prepare an “appropriate” response that could mirror the attack, while the agency continued operations against Russian military and infrastructure targets. The strike came amid a 10th consecutive day of Russian drone attacks on Kyiv and as U.S. envoys Steve Witkoff and Jared Kushner were expected to visit Moscow and Kyiv for renewed negotiations to end the war.

Timing is what gets me - right when there's supposed diplomacy happening with the US. Hard to negotiate peace while trading strikes like this.
Striking the SBU headquarters directly feels like a message, not just a random hit. Wonder how Zelenskyy's "response" will actually look in practice.
