Russian Drone Strike Kills 13 at Dnipro Station
A Russian jet-powered drone struck a platform at Dnipro’s railway station on Thursday, October 29, 2026, killing 13 people. Train No. 866 on the Dnipro-Zaporizhzhia route was at the platform. Ukrainian Railways said the strike hit that platform and that people were there despite a heightened danger alert. Rescuers, medical teams and law enforcement responded. Dnipro Mayor Borys Filatov posted that a drone struck a civilian electric train, that many were killed and wounded, and that this is a war of genocide; he separately called it a tragedy after a passenger electric train was hit. Oleksandr Hanzha, head of the regional military administration, said thirteen people were killed and at least five wounded, with medics providing all necessary assistance. President Volodymyr Zelenskyy later reported the injured at 10. Ukrzaliznytsia said a jet-powered UAV struck the platform where the train stood and that there were dead and wounded. Hanzha’s wounded figure of at least five and Zelenskyy’s later count of 10 are both on the record. The same filing notes Russian ballistic missiles that day struck a university campus, Kyoto Park, areas near a metro station and residential quarters in Kyiv, killing one and injuring nine, mostly students in a dormitory.
