A large overnight drone attack into Nov. 1, 2026, damaged an industrial facility in the Kstovo district of Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod region. Governor Gleb Nikitin said air defenses destroyed more than 100 drones, the site sustained significant damage, and there were no casualties; he warned repairs could mean temporary electricity outages and heating limits. Russia’s Defence Ministry said it downed 235 Ukrainian drones overnight. Investigators opened a terrorism case, per TASS. A drone alert was declared at 1:01 a.m. Moscow time, with explosions and air-defense activity reported between 2:51 a.m. and 3:08 a.m. Ukrainian media and ASTRA identified the target as LUKOIL’s NORSI refinery, among Russia’s five largest. Russian officials described only an unnamed industrial enterprise. Fire Point and other Ukrainian-linked accounts claimed the strike online. Moscow said Friday Ukraine had resumed refinery strikes after a pause; Alexander Novak said three oil refineries and one gas-chemical complex were hit. President Volodymyr Zelensky said on Telegram that Russian strikes left hundreds of thousands in Ukraine without power and that “the intensity of the strikes is very high, and the Russians are seeking to maximally exploit the deficit of ballistic missile interceptors.” Independent confirmation of the plant’s identity and full damage was not reported.

No right coverage yet — a bubble gap.
Attacks this deep inside Russia risk drawing in more countries and prolonging the whole conflict.
Downing over 100 drones is impressive but the fact some reached a major site shows gaps in their air defense.
If the Kstovo refinery took real damage this could tighten Russia's fuel output for months.
