Packers' Micah Parsons Return May Slip to November
Micah Parsons is eligible to come off the physically unable to perform list in Week 5, but he is not expected to resume practice then, and reports say the Packers may hold him out until November despite no reported setback from his recovery from ACL and meniscus surgery. Green Bay is weighing his recovery against a demanding schedule, including a division game and a short-week Thursday matchup. While sidelined, Parsons has also been advising rookie defensive tackle Chris McClellan on interior pass-rushing technique. Meanwhile, Dallas’s acquisitions of Quinnen Williams and Joey Porter Jr. have renewed scrutiny of the trade that sent Parsons to Green Bay: the Cowboys received Kenny Clark and two first-round picks, while the Packers extended Parsons on a four-year, $188 million deal. Analysts have contrasted the draft capital and projected salaries Dallas has since committed to rebuilding its defense with Green Bay’s decision to make Parsons its defensive centerpiece.
