Saudi Arabia places Yanbu oil hub on alert
Saudi Arabia issued temporary danger alerts for Yanbu, a major Red Sea oil-export hub, and Sharurah near the Yemeni border as Houthi attacks heightened security concerns. The Saudi-led coalition said it intercepted a missile launched toward Medina, but authorities did not establish a link between the interception and the alerts; the Houthis had not claimed an attack on Yanbu, and no disruption to its operations was confirmed. Officials later said the danger had passed in both areas and urged residents to follow safety guidance. The warnings came amid renewed regional conflict and Saudi efforts to secure military support from partners.
