Greenland’s 2025 parliamentary election produced a government led by Jens-Frederik Nielsen, while all parties in the legislature rejected U.S. control. Denmark later summoned the top U.S. diplomat after reports alleged covert influence operations in Greenland involving people connected to Trump. A separate report said Trump subsequently posted an image featuring the words “His Hemisphere” over a globe centered on Greenland, prompting criticism that the message suggested an expansive claim over the Western Hemisphere.
