Cardinals Bench Brissett for Minshew During Cowboys Game
The Arizona Cardinals benched Jacoby Brissett in the third quarter against the Dallas Cowboys, turning to Gardner Minshew with the team trailing 17-3. Brissett had completed 10 of 23 passes for 119 yards and an interception, while Arizona had struggled to move the ball and was scoreless on two red-zone trips. Minshew quickly sparked the offense: after a short completion, Tyler Allgeier ran for a 63-yard touchdown, and the Cardinals scored again on a Minshew-to-Allgeier pass on their next drive. The change was made during the game and does not by itself establish that Brissett has lost the starting job going forward; rookie Carson Beck was inactive as the emergency third quarterback.
