In 2026 midterm results, Republican Chuck Fleischmann won reelection in Tennessee’s 3rd Congressional District with 57% of the vote, while Democrat Valerie Foushee was projected to secure a third term representing North Carolina’s 4th District after taking nearly 83% of the early vote reported. In North Carolina’s 49th Senate District, Democrat Julie Mayfield held a decisive 78.5% to 21.5% lead over Republican CJ Domingo with 33 of 60 precincts reporting. In Southeast Texas, polls closed after strong early voting turnout, and ballot counting was underway.
